More About the Work We Do

We help individuals who are in an emergency situation after being kicked out of their homes. Whether they’ve been forced to leave by a batterer or if they fled with only the clothes on their back, our nonprofit organization will welcome them with open arms. We provide socks, thermals, shoes, diapers, blankets, clean underwear, and coats.

Our organization is dedicated to all of the people who are afraid to speak up for themselves. These include those who cannot speak because of an invisible noose that seems to choke them whenever the batterer is present.

We offer emergency rides and motels (upon available funds) for clients who have their belongings with them while they’re on the run. Also, for those who can’t place their children in different schools and get employment, we can help in changing their names. This can be done especially for people who can’t go back to their homes to get birth certificates and social security cards. However, we can also help individuals who need assistance to go back and get their belongings.

We’ve been giving out toys for the past 16 years to needy families in local motels as well as 21 foster kids in Los Angeles. The toys came from the local fire department and other organizations. We also give leftovers from Toys for Tots and Spark of Love. We’re working out a procedure where we can receive toys all-year-round, ranging from trinkets suited for infants to 18-year-old girls and boys.

Ar-Ray of Hope, Inc is also assisting a church in Los Angeles by providing shelter and other resources to the needy. We have provided lodging for teenagers, and we have assisted a woman who lives in her car by paying for her motel room, feeding her, and providing funds available.

Additionally, our nonprofit organization assists foster parents and homes for abandoned infants, children, teenagers, and runaway youths. We offer resources for medical help, shelter, food counseling, and mentoring. We can also assist parents in locating their runaway children by posting flyers and sending emails. Furthermore, we can provide counseling during traumatic ordeals.

For women and children who needs a legal advocate for court cases regarding domestic violence and juvenile delinquency, we can provide a professional who will see your case through. Mental health assistance and counseling resources are

offered, too.

We are currently writing to young men and women in prison to encourage and give them hope. In addition to this, we’re counseling mothers and fathers who have children in prison.

All of these activities been financed by Elicia’s own funds and by donations from local citizens. If you’re interested in helping out, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are extremely thankful to our community volunteers. Our organization welcomes individuals and community groups who want to help us accomplish our goals and better serve those under our care. Here are some ways that you can help us:

Services We Need

A Van

We need a van so we can transport clients who are staying in motels with their children and their belongings. It will also be used as transportation for clients who are going to be interviewed for shelters that are out of the area. These clients would usually have a roomful of their belongings that they cannot place in their storage units because the units have locks or liens on them and are in an auction status.

Office Space

We’re searching for office space for computers that our clients can us to search for employment, house referrals, laundry area, shower areas, bus tokens, and food vouchers. Our organization will also need telephones to call for family assistance and possible housing and gas money with the economic issues we are all experiencing.

Storage Facility

We’re looking for a storage facility that can be donated to store our clients’ precious belongings temporarily while they search for permanent housing, childcare, and employment. We may have to create our own storage facility.

Safe Houses, Trailers, Abandoned Buildings, Warehouses & Other Facilities

These will be inspected to ensure that every inch of the property is ready for code inspections and meet building and safety standards. We’ve consulted architects and are searching for an engineer regarding designing and construction.

We need a place located in a secluded area or desert that would be ideal in securing clients who suffered from domestic abuse and keeping them away from traffic and public nuisances. The property must be somewhere that the batterer can’t locate them nor perpetrate any violence against them.

Licensed Lawyers

Our nonprofit organization is looking for licensed lawyers who can assist the victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and any kind of abuse with the following:

  • Temporary Restraining Orders

  • Divorces

  • Wills and Trusts

  • Bankruptcies

  • All Family Law Issues

  • Police Reports

  • Human Trafficking Rescues From Other Countries

  • All Court Documents

  • Change of Identity for Some Clients

  • Resolving Law Issues for the Protection
    of Client’s Family

Motels and Hotels to Convert Into Temporary Housing

Facility for Baths and Showers (Pamper Place)

We need a place where clients can wash themselves and take care of their personal hygiene. It needs to have washers and dryers available so that they can do their laundry. A play area for children near the front lobby with an attendant is also a must. We’re asking for:

  • Shampoos

  • Gift Baskets With Toiletries

  • Clean Clothing

Our organization is also looking for hair dressers and stylists who are willing to give our clients haircuts.
